As a Teaching Assistant for "Cornerstone of Engineering 1 and 2," my role is integral to fostering a technical and innovative mindset among engineering students. This position demands a dynamic blend of technical expertise, educational support, and project facilitation to enhance students' learning experiences in foundational engineering principles and applications.
Key responsibilities and contributions include:
Technical Guidance: Offer hands-on support in:
Electronics: Guide students in Arduino circuitry, soldering, and the utilization of sensors and actuators, essential for developing functional electronic systems.
Programming: Provide support in C++ for microcontroller projects and MATLAB for data analysis and algorithm development, critical for engineering problem-solving.
Rapid Prototyping: Assist with 3D printing and CAD modeling using SolidWorks, enabling students to design, iterate, and realize physical prototypes efficiently.
Project Facilitation: Guiding students in creating their end of term projects.
April 2024 students will showcase their interactive Museum Exhibits on the 7 Wonders of the World, at the Boston Children's Museum.
This role involves emphasizing troubleshooting, innovation, and user-centered design to ensure the projects not only succeed academically but also engage and educate real-world audiences, specifically children, effectively blending technical development with creative execution.
Assessment and Feedback: Responsible for grading assignments and projects, offering detailed feedback to promote student growth and understanding.
Educational Support: Collaborate with the course instructor to ensure the effective delivery of course materials, focusing on practical skills and theoretical understanding.
